It’s Brutal on Beverly
I was driving down Pico Blvd yesterday and spotted this fine example of brutalist design at the corner of Beverly and Pico. According to the LA Conservancy, the 1966 structure was designed by Kurt Meyer and Associates for Liberty Savings and Loan, and looks perfectly at home in 2019. It’s now anchored by Chase Bank. I’ll have to get inside the lobby one of these days. Banks were prime patrons of 1960’s architecture in Los Angeles, and many of these buildings survive...if you know where to look! https://www.laconservancy.org/locations/citibank
